Description
PITTURA A CALCE SV is a water-based mineral
paint, white or coloured, for internal and
external use, indicated for refined decorations
of historical and new buildings. The product
passed the tests to obtain the A+ class
regarding the French regulation EN ISO 16000-
9, 10, 11 and NF ISO 16000 – 3, 6 also known
as TCOV (total COV).
The regulation is aimed at improving air
quality of indoor environments with
challenging tests on contaminants emissions.
The result is exceptional also because it was
obtained with levels far below what the A+
class norm prescribes (the highest). The
product has an extremely low content of
volatile organic compounds (VOC) and passed
the ECOLABEL n° 5 test. The product meets all
requirements of the ministerial decree of 11th
October 2017 CAM (Italie) “Minimum
environmental requirements for the
entrustment of project services and works for
new construction, re-construction and
maintenance of public buildings“.
Characteristics
Thanks to its special formula containing
ecological and prime-quality raw materials,
the product is very easy to apply, has an
excellent covering power and an extreme
whiteness. Being composed of slaked lime, the
paint gives a high breathability to the support,
a natural bactericidal and sanitising action.
Perfectly stable throughout time this product
must be applied preferably to plasters pretreated
with lime. Resistant to UV rays. The
exclusive use of Natural ear th pigments
guarantees unique colours and a high
resistance to light.
Composition
PITTURA A CALCE SV is composed of slaked
lime seasoned for 6 months and filtered,
water, calcium carbonate, cellulose, latex,
white titanium oxide, natural preservatives.
Support surfaces
PITTURA A CALCE SV should be applied to dry,
non flakey surfaces exempt from salts and
humidity. See table below.
Preparation of surfaces
On new surfaces there is no need for any
preparatory treatments. On already painted or
degraded ones, eliminate existing paint
showing problems of adhesion to the surface,
fill any cracks with filler and apply a coat of
ecological fixer Isoquarz (IS/0255), Casein
Solution (PL/1182) or Natural Soy (IS/0260) to
make the surface uniform. After applying the
fixer, wait 24 hours before applying the first
coat of PITTURA A CALCE SV.
Application
Do not apply on a warm surface, under the
direct action of sun or on a windy day. It is a
natural product, it is therefore possible to
have slightly different tonalities among
different batches, it is therefore suggested to
use a single production batch for the last coat.
Dilute the product with 20-30 % water
according to the conditions of the application,
the nature of the surface and the tools used.
Stir well before use. The product dries on the
surface after 4-6 hours and in depth after 24
hours, the full carbonation is completed after
circa 28 days like all lime-based products. Do
not apply below a temperature of +5°C or
above +35°C or with humidity >70%. Wash
tools with water after use. The outdoor
surfaces must be protected from the water
after application (circa 72 hours).
Colours
It is possible to obtain an infinite number of
tonalities by mixing the paint with our earths,
lacquers, oxides and pigments for artists.
Warning
It is possible to reduce the water absorption of
PITTURA A CALCE SV by applying on the
surface the water-repellent protection
Nippolin idro-rep (IR/0330). The application
with a brush of a non diluted coat reduces
water absorption, thus preserving the
permeability to vapour of the support surface.
Before the application of Nippolin idro-rep
you should check if there are colour variations.
Protect doors, windows, frames and any
surfaces that should not be painted. Any stains
or splashes should be immediately removed
with water.
Consumption
PITTURA A CALCE SV covers 6 – 8 m2/kg
depending on absorption and the type of
surface.
How to apply the paint
PITTURA A CALCE SV can be applied by brush
or roller or it can be sprayed.
Containers and storage
Specific weight : Kg 1,200/lt.
Plastic buckets of 5 and 20 Kg. PITTURA A
CALCE SV must be stored in the original
containers which must be well-closed. It is
stable for at least 12 months providing
temperatures are not below +5°C or not above
+30°C.
Health and safety regulations
Ventilate during application.Avoid contact
with the skin and eyes. In case of contact wash
thoroughly with plenty of water. Keep out of
the reach of children. Please check the safety
sheet for data regarding toxins.
Disposal
Dispose of the product according to local
regulations. Empty containers must be
recycled.
